Pictures showing some of the workers with injuries and scars on the bodies
Pictures of brutality, grievous injuries, terrible working/sleeping conditions from a Chinese company known as Inner Galaxy group located in umuahala, obuzor asa, in ukwa west local government, abia state have surfaced on the internet
The revelation was made by an undercover investigator on Twitter and showed pictures of deplorable working conditions Nigerian staffs in the company were subjected to.
The Nigerian workers had been held back from going home all through the lockdown by their Chinese employers and kept under inhumane conditions.
They were mandated to refer to their Chinese employers as master or mistress.
With no job security whatsoever, the Nigerian workers are at the mercy of their Chinese employers who can fire them at will or even have them assaulted.
Cases of sexual harrassment/assault, physical assault and discriminatory practices against the Nigerian workforce, which is over a thousand persons were seen in the picture and videos released by the undercover investigator.
In one of the videos, the canteen provided for the Nigerian staff was so terrible it wasn't fit to house chickens as against that of the Chinese employers canteen which was as lavish and comfortable.
It was gathered workers were forbidden to form groups or even protest the harsh working conditions as defaulters were brutalized and kicked out.
Sad as it sounds, a Nigerian employee working for inner galaxy group is no different from a modern day slave in his own country.
